MEET TY'RASHA
"I have always loved
everything about it."
Hi, my name is Ty'Rasha! I’m a licensed hairstylist currently based in Baton Rouge, LA.
I can’t say that I’ve always known that I would find a career in the beauty industry, but I have always loved everything about it. I mean, I have Polaroids of myself in middle school, one with my hair all over my head that reads “before” and another after I’d made myself up, hair and make up, that reads “after”.
"I loved social environments, art, music, fashion, and all things beauty."
When I graduated from high school, I moved to Hammond, LA to attend Southeastern Louisiana University. There I studied criminal justice with hopes of becoming an attorney, but it didn’t take me long to have a come to Jesus. I loved social environments, art, music, fashion and all things beauty. So, I moved back home and soon started working as a receptionist at a well known Aveda salon. When I wasn’t checking clients in and out or booking appointments, I was watching the stylists work. I was so interested in the “behind the chair” side of things that my manager at the time called a local cosmetology school and signed me up for a tour. That call was the turning point in my journey. I enrolled at Vanguard Paul Mitchell less than a month after and in 2012 was an official graduate and licensed cosmetologist.
Because this is my passion, it’s vital that I stay trendy and knowledgeable.
In this constantly evolving industry, I am committed to enhancing my knowledge and training to be able to provide my clients quality results in the most efficient way. I value the art and creativity of hair styling, and I have learned so much from experienced stylists in the industry. I’ve attended Vidal Sassoon’s cutting and coloring course in Santa Monica, top colorist Rachel Redd’s class in Atlanta, assisted Tamika Gibson (thehairdiagram)’s wig certification class in Dallas and Baton Rouge, and attended many hair shows, events, and business courses. These opportunities have contributed to my advancement as a stylist, and have sharpened my techniques to be able to uphold the highest quality of standards for my clients.
